The Prowler Burst Personal Defense Weapon (PDW), Prowler SMG or simply the Prowler, is an anti-personnel high-caliber personal defense weapon, debuting in Apex Legends as an available weapon in the Apex Games. The heavy ammo weapon is designed to fire in five-round bursts out of the box.
The Prowler is unique in Apex Legends, as it is the only SMG that only uses heavy ammo.
The Prowler boasts greater hipfire accuracy compared to other SMGs due to its burst mode.

Designed for personal defense, the Prowler Burst PDW was an essential firearm for Pilots whose Titans were compromised during battle. Its compact shape gives it the punch of an assault rifle at a much smaller size, and its burst - action design allows the operator to lay down significant cover fire - this was particularly helpful for Pilots ejecting from their Titans. It can also be upgraded to a full - auto mode that allows the operator to put heavy fire down - range with the effective accuracy of an assault rifle.
The Prowler bears a slight resemblance to the real world P90, with a unique handle and trigger guard that doubles as a front grip, though unlike the P90 it is stubbier and fed from a more traditional box magazine.
