They kill you, they're better. You kill them, you're better.
— Catchphrase of the Apex Games, a spin on Kuben Blisk's motto

The Apex Games, its iconography taken from the Apex Predators, are a bloodsport competition operated in The Outlands by Kuben Blisk and are the focus of Apex Legends. All of the contestants of the Games are known as "Legends", with the victors known as "Apex Champions". The games involve combatants entering an arena on the island (either Kings Canyon, World's Edge, Olympus, Storm Point, or Broken Moon) and battling each other in squads of three. Though this isn't seen directly in Apex Legends, due to the Legends canonically surviving well into 2735, it is confirmed, through extended material and shorts like Encore, that the in universe Apex Games usually concludes with either one squad, or one person, left standing. With everyone else usually ending up dead. The risk and unpredictability of the bloodsport, alongside the personalities of the participants, quickly propelled The Apex Games into a popular spectator sport with their matches usually being televised across the Frontier. This popularity would lead its matches, as well as their participants, to be covered across the Frontier through outside media such as News Outlets and Talk Shows. This popularity has also led many participants, including mercenaries, former soldiers, and even former pilots, to come to the Apex Games in search of money, fame, glory, or more personal reasons.
