Jackson Williams is a member of a highly respected IMC Armed Services family with members having been Pilots.
Jackson Williams was born on the IMC controlled planet Gridiron to a respected Military family with three brothers and one sister, Jackson quickly rose through the ranks and became a Lieutenant while also receiving Pilot training though he would never become a Pilot by the end of the Frontier War.
Background
Heroic Defender
Lamont Craig wasn’t like other dads in the neighborhood. Sure, he dropped the kids off at school and acted out multiple voices every night for Story Time with his toddler. But Lamont had secrets—the first being his real name, Jackson Williams.
A top soldier for the IMC, Jackson went AWOL when he ignored direct orders to fight what he believed was a losing battle. He knew he would never be safe from the remnants of the IMC--and neither would his sister, Anita, as long as she was with him. So when he was presumed dead in a ship explosion, he used that opportunity to leave his life behind, even if it meant leaving her behind too. Years later, “Lamont” moved to an idyllic little town called Harris Valley, where he fell in love and got married. Harris Valley was so peaceful that they didn’t need law enforcement. All they needed was their knight, Newcastle. But the knight had secrets of his own: Newcastle had sold off the town to pay off his debts, and thugs from a gang called the Forgotten Families came to collect. They killed Newcastle when he couldn’t pay, unaware that Lamont was watching. He defeated them using his military acumen, but the Forgotten Families had plenty of reinforcements.
So, Lamont came up with a dangerous solution. With Newcastle’s armor, he could take on his identity and do what Newcastle could not: get into the Apex Games. With prize money like that, he could definitely pay off the debts. But not without the risk of being discovered by his little sister, the Apex Legend, Bangalore.
History
Battle of Gridiron
Jackson Williams was a commanding officer during the Battle of Gridiron, sometime during the battle Jackson lost contact with his sister Anita "Bangalore" Williams who would later be found with a stab wound and other injuries. Quickly taken off of the planet surface Jackson along with Anita would be taken to the IMS Hestia I, where Jackson would make the decision to ignore the order to have the Hestia I put into attack position and instead ordered for the ship to be ready for jump. The Hestia I crashed on the planet Gaea on the Island known as Storm Point.
Attack on Gaea Settlement
Bangalore awakes after being unconscious and immediately asks for her brother Jackson, unaware of the retreat and the result of Gridiron. Jackson quickly met with Bangalore after she woke up letting her know everything was okay, Jackson walked Bangalore through the makeshift settlement explaining what happened at Gridiron and that the war was over. Unsatisfied with his answers Anita returned to the Hestia I to try and contact any IMC remnants with an encrypted S.O.S signal to any IMC Friendlies.
Commander Scryer an IMC Pilot responded and arrived to the settlement quickly accused Jackson of being a traitor and that the penalty for his desertion was death, Anita quickly contested Scryer's want for a quick execution, she quickly pulled her pistol in defense of her brother to which Scryer simply responded with a sigh commenting "Such a waste" activating his ships missiles and bombed the settlement. Scryer quickly moved towards Anita lifting her into the air with his jump kit until she took his knife and slashed his kit, causing her to fall into a building. Jackson swiftly caught up with Anita and prepared to fight Scryer together, Scryer easily took advantage and engaged his Cloak taunting the siblings before hitting Anita into a box causing the wood to break and pierce her leg. Jackson dazed and confused was being played with by Scryer who cut him and punched him while demeaning his family "The heroes of the IMC". Anita seeing her brother in danger snapped in her removed it and then stabbed Scryer in his neck allowing Jackson to grapple him to the ground letting Anita stab Scryer in the chest with his knife hammering it past his armor.
Jackson and Anita then boarded Scryer's ship along with other deserters and left Storm Point.
A New Life
Jackson having fallen from his ship above Solace and left stranded decides to fake his death and move to Harris Valley where he would meet his future wife and have two children, a daughter and son.
Jackson would live a peaceful life changing his name to Lamont Craig, and start his own business known as Lamont's Hand where he would sometimes fix Newcastle's equipment after his failed attempts to become a Legend in the Apex Games.
After another failed attempt by Newcastle to join the Apex Games the people of Harris Valley gathered to welcome home their hero with optimism that next time he'll make it in. Jackson and his family watched and participated in the festival thrown in Newcastle's honor and eventually went back home, however when putting their daughter to sleep she realized she had left her Newcastle doll back at Lamont's Hand to which Jackson gladly went back to retrieve it. When Jackson picked up the doll he heard an argument between Newcastle and a Forgotten Families member, after seeing Newcastle get shot Jackson jumped into action by knocking out two guards and disarming the leader of the group. Finding out that Newcastle had sold the town to the Forgotten Families due to being in debt, he offered to compete in the Apex Games in Newcastle's place to pay off the debt to which the leader happily agreed to. Jackson checking on Newcastle attempted to help him but was unable to as Newcastle succumbed to his wounds.
As Jackson left Newcastle he looked to a poster of his sister Bangalore and said "See you soon sis." before preparing to compete in the Apex Games.
Presumed Death
Wraith informs Bangalore that a corpse on Solace had been found that matched Jackson's description, that it even had his dog tags. Anita wanting to see his grave was distraught to hear that bodies on Solace are buried within two weeks and that the records of his burial were lost in a fire that occurred at the morgue three years prior. The date of his presumed death was 2728.
Bangalore then gives Jackson her family's tradition of a family send-off at the crash site of The IMS Hestia I on the Storm Point map, located on the planet Gaea.
