Boreas is a planet in the Outlands. It has a robust textile industry, which leads to a ubiquity of moths throughout the planet’s culture, traditions, and even their superstitions. A famous folktale, "The Moth and the Flame” is well known on the planet. In 2708, a meteor struck its moon Cleo and shaved off a significant portion of said moon's landmass. The rapidly deteriorating condition of the moon is stated to cause many disasters on Boreas, including regular meteor showers on Boreas' surface and atmosphere, disturbances in the planet's tides, rising temperatures at the poles, plummeting temperatures at the equator, and rapidly spreading food shortages and destruction. Reports have stated that if nothing is done, Boreas will be uninhabitable in 50-70 years. Furthermore, the planet is shrouded in mystery as Octane was unaware of its existence until Loba informed him of its existence. Loba also hints it is a secretively place as she describes her business deals there as tentative. The planet only gained prominence with the introduction of Seer into the Apex Games.

It is the home planet of Seer and Catalyst.

Locations

Cleo - After being struck by a meteor in 2708, a part of Boreas' moon was destroyed. Catalyst and other members of the Cleo Restoration Committee (CRC) labored for several years to make the moon habitable and establish a new settlement. Unfortunately, Eduardo "Duardo" Silva (in reality is a disguised Torres Silva) and an uninformed Seer made a deal that involved turning Cleo into a new Apex Games arena. As a result, Catalyst and the CRC, in addition to the other non-member residents, were ousted from the settlement. The CRC's services were also dismissed, prompting them to relocate back to Boreas. The settlement on Cleo, now known as "Broken Moon," is an available battle royale map in Apex Legends.

Chikuum - This particular city is among the larger ones of the planet. It is notable for being the residence of "The Foundry Arenas," where Seer spent his childhood and youth. Seer also participated in numerous Arena matches held there. The city is also where the "Encore" arena is situated.

Asteria - A city on the planet Boreas that was devastated in the Lymantria Fallout Collision. In order to restore its habitability, the Cleo Recovery Council (CRC), with the support of the Boreas Science Division, embarked on a terraforming mission. They utilized ferrofluid to mend the lunar surface and successfully restored Cleo's habitability by 2715. In addition to key infrastructure such as greenhouse arrays, research facilities, and a ferrofluid refinery, a stasis net array was deployed to deflect falling debris from Boreas and Cleo.

Nku - Another city on the planet Boreas that suffered severe damage in the Lymantria Fallout Collision. To reverse the damages and restore its habitability, the Cleo Recovery Council (CRC), with the support of the Boreas Science Division, initiated a terraforming mission. The CRC used ferrofluid to mend the lunar surface, allowing Nku and other affected areas to recover. The restoration efforts also included the deployment of a stasis net array to prevent falling debris from causing further destruction.
