Olympus is one of the five existing maps in Apex Legends. It is an abandoned high-tech floating city located above a city on Psamathe. This was the main map that hosted the games during season 7.

Background

Olympus was a city built on dreams. Built in 2640 by billionaire humanitarian Lillian Peck, this utopia floating in the clouds above Psamathe was once a place where the brightest minds in the Outlands could gather and exchange ideas, leading to breakthroughs in the sciences and arts. Olympus produced a number of breakthroughs for the Outlands, including developments in eco-friendly Jump Drives for short-distance vessels, a Phase Technology for immediate transportation called the Phase Runner, and drone technology for health and security systems.

All dreams come to an end, however, and this one ended explosively: the Phase Runner accident in an experimental research facility led to the creation of the Phase Rift (a massive bubble of Phase energy), and the Outlands' best and brightest quickly abandoned the city.

However, Olympus itself was maintained by advanced computer systems, so it quickly found new buyers in the Outlands' elite. For 40 years, it served as a lavish vacation spot with the Rift as a tourist attraction. Unfortunately, the Rift grew unstable over time, and Olympus was fully evacuated six months ago. Now, Hammond Robotics, with the support of the Mercenary Syndicate, has transformed Olympus into a new stage for the Apex Games – though why is anyone’s guess.

Ninth Season

In 2734, new revelations emerged regarding the Phase Runner accident. It was discovered that the accident was deliberately caused to prevent the theft of a valuable energy source called branthium. Pathfinder played a crucial role in ensuring the widespread distribution of branthium, effectively resolving the pressing energy crisis and establishing the MRVN as a hero in the Outlands. In recognition of his efforts, a statue in Pathfinder's likeness was erected, and a grand ceremony was planned, attracting numerous citizens from the Outlands who flocked to Olympus to participate.

Coincidentally, around the same period, the Icarus fleet, a fleet of scavenger ships secretly dispatched by Torres Silva, the CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals, returned to the Outlands after their expansive voyage to Typhon. The fleet, including their prominent flagship, the ICS Icarus, approached Olympus and docked in the floating city. These ships transported a volatile payload of Medusa vines extracted from the remnants of Typhon. Unfortunately, the Medusa vines rapidly spread, unleashing a volatile antigen that triggered an epidemic among the masses gathered for Pathfinder's ceremony. With the assistance of the Legends, the epidemic was effectively contained, and the growth of the Medusa vines was brought to a halt. However, removing the majority of these vines proved impossible as they had deeply intertwined with Olympus' infrastructure.

Twelfth Season

Prior to Mad Maggie's sentence of death by combat in the Apex Games, the Syndicate had installed the Phase Driver and its terminal in Olympus as a way to teleport the entire floating city if necessary. However, the programming of the Phase Driver was subpar, and the systems responsible for its maintenance lacked even the most basic firewalls. During Maggie's inaugural match, Silva took advantage of these weaknesses and hacked into the systems, attempting to drop Olympus onto the city of Malta. Fortunately, the emergency turbine systems prevented the city from crashing, keeping it afloat. Silva cunningly blamed Maggie for the incident, using it as a means to portray her as a "villain" in his plot to seize control of the Syndicate.
