Why gallery?

I don't quite understand why we use <gallery>instead of [[File:XXXXX.png|XXXpx]] for one image.. 185.11.210.41 06:16, April 24, 2014 (UTC)

It organizes the picture into a section. It also prevents the picture from screwing up with any near by text. -- awyman13 ^Talk _Work 21:53, April 24, 2014 (UTC)
